Professor Antun Tucak was born on 10 July 1934 in Sovići in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He completed his secondary school education at a grammar school in Osijek, and he graduated at the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb in 1963. He gained the academic title of Doctor of Science in 1979 at the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb. He was elected to title of Assistant Professor in 1984, to title of Associate Professor in 1989 and to title of Full Professor in 1999. In 2004, he was elected to title of Full Professor with tenure. He was elected Head of Urology in 1990, and in 1992, he founded the Clinic for Urology of the Clinical Hospital Osijek and became the first Head of this Clinic and founder and manager of the Referral Centre of the Ministry of Health in the field of Urolithiasis from 1996 to 2004. He was head of the Scientific Unit for Clinical Medical Research of the Clinical Hospital Osijek from 1980 to 2004. He was Assistant to the Dean of the School of Medicine in Zagreb for the Off-site Study of Medicine in Osijek from 1996 to 1998. He was the first Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek from 1998 to 2003. He published a total of 153 papers, 112 of which were scientific papers and 78 were abstracts, at international and domicile congresses. He was mentor for 16 graduate theses, 7 master's theses and 2 doctoral theses. He received numerous acknowledgments and awards: award by the Community for Scientific Work of the Republic of Croatia in 1986, the Plaque and Diploma for Contribution to the Scientific Work of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences in 1987, the Award of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts Award for the Field of Medical Science in 2000. He was awarded the Commemorative Medal of the Homeland War in 1990, 1992 and 1996, as well as the Order of Danica Hrvatska with the image of Katarina Zrinski (1997). In 1998, he was awarded the Seal of the City of Osijek for his contribution to medical sciences and in 1999, he was awarded the Medal of Order of the Croatian Trefoil. He retired on 1 October 2004. Professor Antun Tucak gave an extraordinary contribution to the teaching, professional and medical activities, as well as to the development of medical sciences and health care in the country and abroad. On 14 February 2005, the Senate awarded the honorary scientific-teaching title of Professor Emeritus to the retired full professor of the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek, Professor Antun Tucak, for his extraordinary scientific-teaching work in the scientific field of biomedicine and health, the field of clinical medical science, which resulted in great contributions to the development of the scientific field of biomedicine and health in the Republic of Croatia as well as improvement of scientific-teaching activity at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek and at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.
Associate Professor KREŠIMIR GLAVINA, Primarius MD, M.Sc., Radiology Specialist, was born on 1 January 1940 in Subotica, where he completed his elementary education, graduated from grammar school and passed his Matriculation Examination in 1958. He enrolled in the School of Medicine in Zagreb, where he graduated on 13 April 1964. He served his compulsory internship at the General Hospital in Subotica during 1964/65. He passed his state licence exam in 1969. He specialised in radiology at the Institute of Radiology of the Clinical Hospital "Dr. Mladen Stojanović" in Zagreb from 1969 to 1972. On 12 April 1972, he passed his specialist exam in radiology. He worked as a radiology specialist at the General Hospital in Subotica (1972-1973) and in the Radiology Department of the General Hospital in Našice (1973-1978), where he was also Head of Department of Radiology and Director of the General Hospital Našice (1974-1978). He worked as a radiology specialist at the Department of Radiodiagnostics of the General Hospital Osijek (1978-1987) and he was Head of this Department from 1987 to 1991). He performed the duty of Director of the General Hospital Osijek (1991-1992) and of the Clinical Hospital Osijek (1992-2000). He was awarded the title "Primarius" by the Republic Committee for Health and Social Welfare of the Socialist Republic of Croatia (1990). He acquired professional training in Paris (1986, 1988), Erlangen (1987) and Dresden (1989). He completed the Postgraduate Study of Radiology at the School of Medicine in Zagreb (1980-1981). After defending his master's thesis, he acquired the academic title of "Master of Medical Sciences" at the School of Medicine in Zagreb (1986). When he later defended his doctoral thesis, he acquired the academic title of "Doctor of Medical Sciences" at the School of Medicine in Zagreb (1998). He was elected scientific assistant at the Department of Radiology and General Clinical Oncology of the School of Medicine in Zagreb for the Study of Medicine in Osijek (1992). He was elected to the scientific-teaching title of Assistant Professor in cumulative employment at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek, Department of Radiology for the course Radiology (27 December 1998). He was elected to the scientific-teaching title of Associate Professor in cumulative employment at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek, Department of Radiology for the course Radiology (on 28 January 2002). He started performing the duty of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek in the academic year 2003/04.
Professor Pavo Filaković was born on 21 February 1949. He is employed at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek. He completed the study of medicine in 1973 at the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb. He specialised in psychiatry at the Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek and the Clinical Hospital Centre "Rebro" in Zagreb from 1978 to 1982. He finished the Postgraduate Study of Social Psychiatry in 1983. He was employed at the Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek from 1978 to 2013 as a psychiatry specialist and Head of the Psychiatry Clinic from 2003 to 2013. He has been a court expert in psychiatry since 1992. He was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek from 2005 to 2009, and since 2009, he has been employed as Vice Dean for Cooperation with Teaching Sites and Head of Department of Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine. Scientific-teaching career: he attained his master's degree in 1987 at the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb with the thesis titled "Influence of Psychoactive Drugs on Blood Pressure". He attained his doctoral degree in 1995 at the School of Medicine of the University of Zagreb with the thesis titled "The Hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid Axis and Depressions". He wrote 90 professional and scientific papers in the field of psychiatry, 21 of which are indexed in CC, 9 are indexed in SCI-E and 30 are indexed in other international indexes. He wrote 15 chapters in professional and scientific literature. He was editor of the textbook "Psychiatry" (Faculty of Medicine Osijek, 2014). He participated in several scientific research and professional projects and he was leader of the project "The Mechanism of Emergence of Metabolic Syndrome Induced by Antipsychotics" under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports from 2007 to 2012. He participated in numerous projects of professional pharmacological research of drugs (about 15) as principal investigator and researcher. He lectures at the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek: he was assistant from 1989 to 2000, Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2004, Associate Professor from 2004 to 2008, Full Professor from 2008 to 2013 and since 2013, he has been Full Professor with tenure. He has been Head of Department of Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine since 2002. Positions and memberships: he has been member of the editorial board of the journal "Medicinski vjesnik" ("Medical Journal") of the Scientific Unit of the Clinical Hospital Centre Osijek, member of the Court of Honour of the subsidiary of the Croatian Medical Association in Osijek, member of the management board of the Croatian Society for Clinical Psychiatry, member of the Committee for Medical Ethics and Deontology of the Croatian Medical Association. He is member of the Psychiatry Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia. He is member of the Croatian Medical Association, Croatian Psychiatric Association and associate member of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences (since 1997), the Croatian Medical Chamber and the Croatian Society for Forensic Psychiatry.
Other activities: He reviewed several professional and scientific books as well as texts for the following journals: "Liječnički vjesnik", Collegium Antropologicum and Psychiatria Danubina. He also reviewed study programs for the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports as well as proposals for the establishment of referral centres for the Ministry of Health. Awards and acknowledgments: the Commemorative Medal of the Homeland War 1994, Charter of the Croatian Medical Association 2005 and Award of the Croatian Medical Association "Ladislav Rakovac" in 2009.
