Completed four-year high school, passed mandatory segment of the state graduation exam and biology or physics as the elective subject.
The applications for enrolment take place simultaneously with the selection of state graduation exam subjects via the NISpVU system, using the https://www.postani-student.hr/ website.
The applicants are ranked based upon the score comprising their high school success, the state exam results and the additional achievements.

After completing the study program, a one-year internship in medical laboratories (hematology, pathology, clinical microbiology and clinical biochemistry) - and passing the state examination, the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Diagnostics is a healthcare professional who is able to carry out all tasks in accordance with the general regulations based on specific laws and regulations for the respective profession (Act on Healthcare Activities; Official Gazette, 87/09). The profession of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics is on the List of academic titles and degrees and their abbreviations in the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette no. 50/15), in the Codebook of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund under the code 747, in the Database of acquired education in the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute, in the Database of a regulated profession in the European Union, and in the Database of regulated professions in the Republic of Croatia of the Agency for Science and Higher Education (Office ENIC/NARIC).
Upon completion of the University Undergraduate Study of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics, the student can continue their studies and enroll in the University Graduate Study of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics or another similar university graduate study program and obtain the Master of Science qualification. The conditions for application to programs in other areas are determined by the higher education institutions delivering the program.
